Terms And Conditions
- The Midlands Fashion Awards is held annually in Birmingham
- The competition is open to new emerging, independent and accessories designers, final year fashion students and graduates. Designers who live work or have been educated in the region are invited to participate in the competition.
- Entrants taking part in the Emerging Designers category must have at least 2 years experience in the industry.
- All entries submitted must be produced by the individual entering the competition, the entrant must own all rights, title and interest in the design.
- The registration form must be completed in full and must be received within the required deadline Partially completed entry forms received will be considered void.
- An application fee applies to all entrants.
- All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
- Awards will only be presented if a satisfactory number of quality entrants are received in the various categories, the judging panel reserves the right to carry over such awards to the following year
- All entrants must agree to publicity in respect to their entry both leading up to and following the Awards. The Midlands Fashion Awards reserves the right to use the names and addresses of winners, their designs and audio and/or visual recordings of them in any publicity including our website, social media, in advertising/promotional activity and on our literature
- Images submitted are understood to be the property of the designer with the right to use them for unlimited publication. All credits (where applicable) must be submitted with the application
- Entrants short-listed for the Awards will be contacted using the contact details provided on the entry form. If the organisers of the Midlands Fashion Awards are unable to contact short-listed Entrants within 7 days it reserves the right to withdraw the entry and offer the place at the Awards to another Entrant at its discretion
- Shortlisted entrants may be asked to provide additional information to support their application and assist the Panel
- Finalists will be notified by email and their profile uploaded onto our website
- Any prize(s) must be taken as stated and cannot be deferred. There will be no cash alternative available for prizes
- The Entrant agrees that the Midlands Fashion Awards shall have no liability to it in any indirect or consequential losses or loss of profit, revenue or anticipated savings.
- Whilst all entries will be treated with care, entries will only be accepted on a ‘no liability’ basis. Entrants should arrange their own insurance of submissions if they require it.
- The organisers of the Midlands Fashion Awards reserves the right to combine or withdraw any category and reserves the right to add or alter any category if there are insufficient entries in any category.
- The Midlands Fashion Awards reserves the right to cancel the Awards at any stage, or change any of the rules or procedures if deemed necessary in its opinion, or if circumstances arise outside its control. Any changes made will be listed on our website www.midlandsfashionawards.co.uk
- A panel of industry professionals will determine the shortlist and ultimate winners of the Awards. Decision of the judges is final and no correspondence on their decision will be entered into.
- The registration form must be completed in full and must be received within the required deadline.Partially completed entry forms received will be considered void.
- By entering the Awards, entrants (the “Entrants”) will be deemed to have accepted these rules and to agree to be bound by them.
- Any personal data relating to Entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the individual’s prior consent.
- Entry fees will not be refunded under the following circumstances:
- When an entry is terminated for failure to comply with Midlands Fashion Awards policies and procedures.
- A designer who withdraws or cancels his/her entry differing refund amounts will apply. If the notice to withdraw is received by Midlands Fashion Awards at least 28 days before the show starts, a refund of 80% of the entry fees will be paid; if less than 28 days before the show starts, 50% of the tuition fees will be paid; if on or after the starts, no refund will be made.
