This award will be presented to a talented independent fashion designer or boutique who is able to present a collection for the catwalk consisting of innovative and unique womenswear or menswear. Designers will need to showcase a collection of at least six outfits.

This category will be presented to a talented up-and-coming fashion designer who is able to present a collection for the catwalk consisting of innovative and unique womenswear or menswear. Designers will need to showcase a collection of at least six outfits.

Accessory Designer of the Year

This award will be presented to a talented accessory or jewellery designer who designs fashion related accessories such as shoes, handbags, scarves, millinery, precious or non-precious jewellery. Open to anyone aged over 18 and any level. The designers may be invited to have a stand and sell products at the Midlands Fashion Awards event.

Young Fashion Designer of the Year (Graduates)

Open to the next generation of innovative fashion designer who are able to present a collection for the catwalk consisting of innovative and unique womenswear or menswear. Designers must be in their final year of studying a BA Fashion Degree course or newly qualified with less than 2 years of professional experience. Designers will need to showcase a collection of at least four outfits.

Sustainability Award

This award focuses on sustainability in fashion and is open to innovative and sustainable designers and brands who are taking an environmentally conscious and sustainable approach to fashion.  Applicants must be able to demonstrate sustainable and ethical practices and apply their design techniques to present a collection for the catwalk show or products that promotes the use of at least one of the following environmentally friendly features: zero fabric waste, up-cycled, reconstruction or organic materials. This awards is open to designers at any level, but they will need to showcase at least four outfits.

Fashion Photographer of the Year - Sponsored by the Flash Centre

The award is open to anyone aged 18 and over and also of any level, so amateur and professional photographers are all welcome. The award will be presented to a fashion and beauty photographer who shows they have an eye for detail. Four images need to be provided, which showcases a passion for fashion or beauty, and photographic ability. Photos can be shot on any camera format (for example: DSLR, camera phone or film).

Fashion Stylist of the Year

This award will be presented to a talented fashion stylist who is able to present a portfolio of work highlighting their creative talent and collaborations with fashion designers, hairstylists, make-up artists and photographers that they have undertaken to create beauty/editorial shoots and or campaigns.

Rising Star Award (Make-up Artist) - Sponsored by the Birmingham Chambers of Commerce - Future Faces

This award will be presented to an aspiring make-up artist who is able to work under instructions.  Make-up Artists will be given the opportunity to create looks they will be judged on in a live competition within a given time frame as well as being able to work as part of a team.

Professional Make-up Artist of the Year - (Sponsored by the Central School of Make-up)

This award will be presented to a talented make-up artist who is able to present a portfolio of work, highlighting any collaborations with fashion designers, hairstylists, make-up artists and photographers they have undertaken to create beauty/editorial shoots and or campaigns. Make-up artists will be given the opportunity to create looks they will be judged in a live competition, within a given time frame, as well as demonstrate being able to work as part of a team.
