Midlands Fashion Awards recently went behind the scenes of the Style Birmingham shoot which will be showcasing our 2018 winners’ collections in the April issue.
We caught up with Ekaterina Webb, who was the Young Designer of the Year Runner Up 2018 who designed a collection of clothing and accessories, using pearls and stars.
Ekaterina commented: “The Midlands Fashion Awards was so much fun, and it was so good being part of a fashion and an awards show. It provided me with the opportunity to not only have my first collection showcased on the runway, but I also got to see how a fashion shows works from start to finish, both back stage and front, and it was a fantastic experience. I had just finished university and the Midlands Fashion Awards enabled me to work alongside new and established designers and really set my own business in motion.
“I would absolutely encourage others to enter and I may enter in 2019 as well if I can get a collection together. “
Since the awards, Ekaterina’s fashion business has been going from strength-to-strength. Ekaterina has dressed X Factor female group, The Four of Diamonds and R&B talent, Bellah and has also been involved in a number of fashion editorials with the likes of Bare Minimum Magazine and Hunger Magazine.
Ekaterina added: “Entering the Midlands Fashion Awards and being a runner up has given me the confidence to keep following my dreams. I really recommend these awards.”
