MFA INDEPENDENT DESIGNERS CATWALK SHOW
The event was held at the Hyatt hotel on Broad Street which allowed a sophisticated setting for pre drinks with an intimate catwalk to follow. I was really pleased to have a place setting next to a photographer and blogger I haven’t seen for a while, and also having the opportunity to meet some new people from the local fashion scene.
The collection that stood out for me was Boo Couture, which showcased a beautiful 1950s bridal collection mixed with modern influences. The outfits were each totally unique with a great attention to detail and a strong tailored feel. Watching the catwalk evoked a strong glamourous fairytale theme which is quite different to the other collections
The Sandravieira collection also caught my eye with beautiful contemporary designs. The collection was named Wintermoon which certainly had an ethereal after-dark feel to it. The theme was carried out with differing tones of grey and embossed-like materials giving a shimmering feel to each outfit. Pink tones were contrasted with darker moon-like colours for casual yet out together ensembles.
