The annual awards have grown to become synonymous with fashion, style and an exciting mix of live entertainment. Bringing together fashion and accessory designers, hair and make-up artists, fashion stylists, photographers and models to promote and increase the visibility of the very best of the regions creative talent.
Previous winners have showcased their collections at London, Los Angeles and Miami Fashion Weeks, been approached by high-end retail buyers and gained prestigious press coverage, having their work featured in British and Italian Vogue.
Previous entrant Bottle Blonde is now working with musicians such as Paloma Faith and is stocked in TOPSHOP.
All entries will be considered based upon their entry submissions, applicants will have the opportunity to present their entry to a panel of judges consisting of industry professionals. Each applicant will be interviewed and their collection or portfolio assessed by the judges who will select five finalists in each category to go forward to the awards in October 2018.
This Year's Categories
Independent Fashion Designer
This category is awarded to Midlands based independent fashion designer or boutique who is able to present a collection consisting of innovative and unique womenswear or menswear.
This award will be presented to a talented accessory and jewellery designers who designs fashion related accessories such as handbags, shoes, scarves, precious or non-precious jewellery.
Professional Hair Stylist
This category is awarded to an individual who is able to demonstrate the artistry skills in hairstyling. Individuals must be able to present a strong portfolio of work to include their cutting, styling or textures. Entering the awards is a great opportunity to develop your portfolio and gaining exposure.
This category is awarded to a Midlands based emerging fashion designer who is able to present a collection consisting of innovative and unique womenswear or menswear.
Young Fashion Designer (Graduates)
Open to the next generation of innovative fashion designers. Designers must be in their final year of studying a BA Fashion Degree course or newly qualified with less than 2 years of professional experience.
Rising Star Award (Hairstylists)
The awards recognise, encourage and promote new hairstylists in the early stages of their careers. Hairstylists for the Rising Star Award must have less than 2 years industry experience. This is a great opportunity for aspiring hairstylists to express their creative vision through hair artistry.
This award recognises talented fashion stylists who are able to present a portfolio of work highlighting their expertise and collaborations with fashion designers, hairstylists, make-up artists and photographers that they have undertaken to create beauty/editorial shoots and or campaigns.
Professional Make-up Artist
This award will be presented to a talented make-up artist with who is able to present a portfolio of work highlighting any collaborations with fashion designers, hairstylists, make-up artists and photographers that they have undertaken to create beauty/editorial shoots and or campaigns.
The award will be presented to an emerging photographer at the early stage of their career. Entrants must be able to present a strong portfolio of work to a panel of industry professionals. Entering the awards is a great opportunity to raise your profile.
Rising Star Award (Make-up Artist)
This award will be presented to an aspiring make-up artist who is able to work under instructions. Make-up Artists will be given the opportunity to create looks they will be judged on in a live competition within a given time frame as well as being able to work as part of a team.
